HM King receives RCO Board of Trustees, orphans

Manama, Apr. 9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), received at Al-Sakhir Palace today His Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, and RCO Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, RCO Board members and senior officials, as well as a number of Bahraini orphans.
They extended to HM King Hamad their profound gratitude for his constant support and his fatherly care for them, continued interest in fulfilling all their needs, and keenness on developing RCO's work to be able to deliver the best services for all needy segments.
A group of orphans presented HM the King with a bouquet of flowers, and members of RCO's Board of Trustees, RCO's administrative staff and orphans greeted HM the King. Student Naila Al Ansari read a poem entitled: "In the Presence of a Father," which was written by poet Adel Joma'a Al-Mahmeed.
HM the King welcomed Shaikh Nasser, RCO Board of Trustees members, RCO's officials and orphans.
HM King Hamad lauded the efforts exerted by RCO, under the leadership of Shaikh Nasser, and praised the outstanding work undertaken by all RCO's personnel.
"Thank you for the great work you have performed both as officials and educators. These are your children. They, like all the children of the nation, deserve from us the best care. All the children of the nation are our children who merit good education and care, the most important things and the bases for everything," HM the King said.
"Our sons and daughters have demonstrated their outstanding capabilities and graduated among the top students. They are achievers and they have, thanks to their dedication, reached good positions," HM the King added.
HM the King affirmed: "We are always hopeful about providing the best possible care for our sons and daughters and we shall always wish them the best."
"We would like to thank you as officials at the Royal Charity Organisation for your remarkable performance of your duties," HM the King also said.
HM King Hamad lauded RCO's landmark achievements in Bahrain and abroad, praising its programmes aiming to provide the best services for orphans in order to help them ensure a brighter future.
HM the King directed to provide outstanding services for orphans, widows and needy citizens, stressing that the focus should be on the quality of the services provided.
HM King Hamad expressed hope that Bahraini male and female citizens will contribute to the Kingdom's development and progress, and honour its name at all gatherings.
Earlier, Shaikh Nasser delivered a speech in which he extended, on behalf of RCO's Board of Trustees members and all RCO's affiliates, sincere thanks, loyalty and gratitude to HM the King for his constant interest in RCO, and keenness to develop the services provided for orphans and widows.
Shaikh Nasser asserted that HM the King's support for orphans and the needy and interest in charity work are unmatched worldwide, noting that the outstanding fatherly care enjoyed by orphans and widows in Bahrain and keenness to meet them in order to get assured that they receive the right quality services are a living proof of the Royal care enjoyed by all the citizens in Bahrain.
He affirmed that HM the King's fatherly care and continuous encouragement will motivate RCO to exert more efforts to provide all forms of comprehensive care for orphans in the kingdom.
He affirmed that thanks to HM the King's constant support, RCO has attained widely praised and acclaimed landmark achievements inside and outside the kingdom.
He asserted that RCO was one of the distinctive humanitarian projects launched by HM the King not only for Bahrain, but for the whole world as well.
Then, Shaikh Nasser presented HM the King with a painting depicting HM's fatherly affection towards RCO's affiliates.
He also presented HM the King with a commemorative gift.
Shaikh Nasser submitted to HM King Hamad RCO's annual report for 2014 that included its main achievements. He also presented a book highlighting the success stories of some RCO-affiliated widows and the positive role of the royal support in their lives.
Following the audience, RCO's Board of Trustees member Shaikh Adnan Al-Qattan said that HM the King had directed to increase his support to RCO by allocating a part of HM's Zakat (alms-giving) for orphans and widows.
