HM King receives German Defence Minister

Manama, Oct.31 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen on the occasion of her participation in the IISS Manama Dialogue 2015. HM the King welcomed the German minister and commended solid relations bonding the two friendly countries in all fields. He reiterated Bahrain's keenness on expanding cooperation with Germany, particularly in the military and defence fields. He commended the participation of the German minster in the 2015 edition of Manama Dialogue amid regional developments and challenges that require more consultation and coordination. HM the King underlined the dedicated efforts of Germany as well as contribution to consolidating international security and peace. Regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest were discussed. The German minister expressed thanks to HM the King, lauding his keenness on strengthening bilateral relations. She commended the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the forum, hailing the good organisation and preparations for the important annual symposium.
