HM King pardons 219 inmates

Manama, Dec.15 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa issued a decree-law pardoning 219 inmates, who have served part of their jail terms. The royal amnesty pardoning the inmates marks the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 44th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 16th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne. The royal pardon reflects HM the King’s keenness to provide pardoned convicts with an opportunity to integrate into society and contribute to their country’s development and progress.
