HM the King meets French religious figures

Manama, Sep 7 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the framework of his visit to France, today received at his residence in Paris, France, a number of French religious figures. HM the King took pride in the deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the French Republic, noting that his meeting with President Francois Hollande will open up new horizons of cooperation in various fields. HM the King praised their efforts in promoting the spirit of tolerance and understanding among religions and civilizations, which support global peace and security. HM the King said that the religious and cultural diversity that characterizes the Kingdom of Bahrain since ancient times has made it open to different civilizations and cultures, it also has strengthened its relations based on respect, trust and cooperation with various countries, as well as has boosted its standing at the international level. He noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain has always been a center for religions, civilizations, communication, tolerance and coexistence as it has embraced everyone without discrimination, and by the will of God, it will remain a model of coexistence and friendship among different religions, sects, beliefs and peoples. He noted that the people of Bahrain are characterized by the spirit of friendship and all people of different religions and beliefs are welcomed. He emphasized the importance of building bridges of understanding and coexistence, highlighting the common human values that various religions and civilizations are centered around. HM the King reviewed topics that contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the culture of dialogue, religious tolerance, moderation and rejecting extremism. He noted leading initiatives and forums hosted by Bahrain that have resulted in fruitful results contributed to bolstering dialogue, coexistence and ensuring religious freedom. HM the King wished them success in their efforts in consolidating values of friendship and tolerance. The French religious figures welcomed Bahrain's efforts and initiatives aimed at bringing together people of different religious and sects. They stressed that Bahrain has become a model of coexistence among religions and sects, thanks to the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
