HM King Hamad receives British minister

Manama, Jan. 21 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Sakhir Airbase today, in the presence of BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, British Minister of State for Defence Procurement Philip Dunne in Bahrain to attend Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2016. HM the King thanking Dunne for attending the global exhibition and reviewed with him deep-rooted bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, lauding the outstanding ties binding both countries in various fields. HM the King underlined unwavering keenness to further boost bilateral relations for the best interest of both countries and people. He also took pride in the strong and historical Bahraini-British relations and their perpetual growth at all levels. He praised the specificity of those relations which are based on mutual respect and coordination regarding various regional and international issues of common concern. HM King Hamad commended the role of the British community in Bahrain's development, lauding the large-scale participation of major international companies in BIAS 2016 which, he said, reflects the exhibition's global reputation. He also discussed with the British official ways of boosting bilateral military cooperation. The British minister thanked HM the King for his constant keenness to further cement friendly relations between Bahrain and the UK, stressing the care given to the British community. He also praised the tremendous efforts made to organise BIAS and ensure its success, which, he said, reflects Bahrain's good international reputation.
