HM the King hails solid ties with Pakistan

Manama, Mar. 30. (BNA) – His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Al-Safriya Palace today the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee in Pakistan General Rashad Mahmood and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom. Gen. Rashad Mahmood conveyed to HM King greetings from the Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and their wishes of further progress and prosperity to Bahrain and its people. HM the King welcomed Gen. Rashad Mahmood, and requested him to convey his greetings to the Pakistani President and Prime Minister, and wishes of more progress and prosperity to friendly Pakistan. HM the King affirmed the solid deep-rooted Bahraini-Pakistani relations, progressing steadily in all fields thanks to their joint desire to strengthen them constantly. HM King Hamad voiced pride in the advanced level of bilateral relations, especially in the defence and military fields. HM the King valued highly the firm and historical fraternal stances of Pakistan towards the Kingdom of Bahrain, and its rallying together with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to confront dangers and challenges, combat all forms of terrorism and maintain regional security. HM King Hamad praised the key role of the members of the Pakistani community in Bahrain, and their decades-long contributions to the Kingdom's progress in various field, which, he said, reflects the solid ties bonding the solid long-standing Bahraini-Pakistani relations. The Pakistani Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman re-affirmed the principled stances of his country towards the Kingdom of Bahrain and other GCC countries, stressing its readiness to confront any dangers that pose a threat to their security and stability, and step up cooperation with them on combating terrorism in all its forms. He expressed Pakistan's keenness on enhancing cooperation with Bahrain, especially in the defence field. He also took pride in the fruitful results of HM King Hamad's historic visit to Pakistan last year, noting that it had expanded joint cooperation in various fields. HM the King also reviewed with the Gen. Rashad Mahmood the latest regional and global developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.
