HM the King congratulates AFC president on re-election

Manama, Apr. 30 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has sent a congratulatory cable to the President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa on his election uncontested for a second term in office. HM King Hamad affirmed that Shaikh Salman's winning of such a high-level Asian position reflects the distinguished status enjoyed by the kingdom in the field of youth and sport at the Asian arena. The exploit adds to Bahrain's rich record of landmark sport achievement, HM the King said, adding that Shaikh Salman's re-election proves Asian football associations' confidence in his competence in leading AFC.
