HM King chosen leading GCC honorary personality in caring for orphans

Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has been chosen as the leading GCC honorary personality in caring for orphans. The announcement was made by Al Sanabel Orphan Care Society at a celebration on Sunday for Al Sanabel Award for Community Responsibility in GCC Orphan Care Institutions.
The celebration was held under the patronage of Head of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau and Honorary President of Al Sanabel Orphan Care Society Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Several high-profile GCC figures attended the celebration which was organised by Al Sanabel Orphan Care Society in strategic partnership with the Regional Network for Community Responsibility.
Shaikh Salman said the award was created to honour pioneering figures in caring for the orphans given the importance of this humanitarian and philanthropic community work. He added that the award was bestowed on HM the King in tribute for his outstanding initiatives to provide every care for the orphans in Bahrain and abroad through his honorary presidency of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO).
He also praised the role and support of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the RCO Board of Trustees Chairman, in this respect. He also congratulated all the winners of Al Sanabel Award for Community Responsibility and thanked them for their remarkable efforts to provide paternal care for the orphans in line with the Islamic precepts and values.
Shaikh Salman thanked Board Chairman of Al Sanabel Orphan Care Society Shaikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Qattan, members, the society staff and members of the specialised committee in charge of choosing the winners for their efforts.
Institutions and figures from the GCC countries were also honoured while Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain Taha Mohammed Mahmoud Abdul Qader presented Shaikh Salman with a commemorative gift in tribute for his charity contributions.
