HH the Qatar Emir Tours New Qatar National Museum Project

Doha, May 07 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on Tuesday paid a field tour to the construction site of Qatar National Museum Project, an affiliate of Qatar Museums Authority (QMA). At the beginning of the tour, HH the Emir was briefed on the stages of the work process and the implementation plans in addition to the restoration processes of the old (ancient) Palace. HH the Emir has also got acquainted with a number of engineering charts and architectural designs in addition to the operation plan related mechanism outlining the stages of progress and achievement and takes the project to the desired efficiency, according to the best international standards and specifications. Qatar National Museum Project's officials have begun the process of collecting the ethnographic and archaeological collectibles and whatever made available at the families and individuals in Qatar through programs and activities specifically designed and held to achieve the goals of the museum in rooting and bringing together the Qatari material and moral heritage under one roof. The new museums innovative design created by eminent architect Jean Nouvel is inspired by the Desert Sand Rose and is made up of a series of interlocking disks with cavities inside buffered from the hot desert sun.
