HH the Emir of Qatar Arrives in Hanoi

Hanoi, January 16 (QNA) - HH the Emir of the State Of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani arrived in Hanoi on Monday for a two-day state visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport by chief of the Vietnamese Presidency Affairs Ngowin Ven Geyan along with a number of their excellencies Vietnamese officials, HE Qatari ambassador to the Republic of Vietnam Mohamad Jaber Abdullah As-Sulaiti and HE Vietnamese ambassador to Qatar Li Hong Van. Upon His Highness arrival, HH the Emir headed to the Presidential Palace where President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang and a number of ministers and high ranking officials, welcomed High Highness the Emir . A red -carpet reception ceremony was accorded to HH the Emir. HH the Emir is accompanied by a high-level official delegation. Upon his arrival, HH the Emir gave a statement in which HH voiced pleasure and expressed in his name and on behalf of the people and Government of Qatar, sincere greetings and best wishes of progress , welfare and prosperity to the Government and people of the friendly Socialist Republic of Vietnam." "It gives me the pleasure to visit Vietnam in reply to the kind invitation of HE President Truong Tan Sang, and meet with him and the senior Vietnamese officials to discuss ties of joint cooperation and hold consultations on regional and international issues of common interest," said HH the Emir in the statement. "I'm confident that these meetings would give us a great opportunity to promote bonds of friendship and develop cooperation between the two countries in all fields to the welfare and interest of our peoples," HH the Emir added.
