Heydar Aliyev Foundation VP: Azerbaijan pays great attention to ecological programs and projects

Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 16 / Trend / Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder of the Initiative for International Dialogue for Environmental Protection - IDEA Leyla Aliyeva has met with regional director of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) Jan Dusik today. The meeting took place within the "Green Week", implemented in cooperation with IDEA and UNEP. The importance of the project was stressed at the meeting. The issues of further developing the mutual relations of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UNEP and joint implementation of many programs and projects on environmental protection were discussed. The same day, Leyla Aliyeva met with regional director of the Caucasus office of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Giorgi Sanadiradze. The importance of the project in Azerbaijan, carried out at the initiative of İDEA was stressed at a meeting held within the "Green Week" project, implemented in cooperation with İDEA and UNEP. The work done in this direction was appreciated. İDEA founder Leyla Aliyeva said that despite the international campaign has been operating for only one year, much work has been done in the field of environmental protection and the protection of rare animals. She stressed that Azerbaijan pays great attention to the environmental programs and projects. The sides have also exchanged the views of developing bilateral relations, as well as projects that will be implemented in the future. Leyla Aliyeva also met with Director of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) Jujanna Jacob. The projects undertaken by the campaign in Azerbaijan were appreciated at the meeting. The potential for further developing the bilateral relations between İDEA and WHO was stressed.
