HEC secretary-general attends EDUKEX 2015

London, Nov. 22 (BNA): On behalf of the Education Minister, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) Dr. Riyad Y. Hamzah attended the opening of the Education UK Exhibition (EDUKEX) 2015 "Next Stop Education UK. Your Journey Begins Here," organised by the British Council. The exhibition was held in the presence of UK Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin and Director of Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Dr. Dhafer Al Omran. Prof. Hamzah lauded the advanced level of education in UK which is reflected on the research and human outcomes and he commended the British Council's efforts and initiatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to enhance the bilateral cultural relations. He highlighted the ongoing cooperation between HEC and the British Accreditation Council in many fields, especially the cooperation in the field of the academic accreditation for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The exhibition's organisers affirmed that holding the exhibition is part of the British Council's initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral cultural relations and supporting Bahrain's goal of building a strong economy. EDUKEX is held annually in the Kingdom of Bahrain and brings together 27-32 representatives of universities and British educational institutions. It receives more than 1500 students, who are interested in being informed about education in the UK.
