Health Ministry conducts inspection campaigns

Manama, June 22 (BNA): Food control section at the Public Health Directorate launched a number of inspection campaigns during Ramadan, in order to monitor food and sweets shops, restaurants and bakeries. Head of Food Control Section Mohamed Salman Alhadaq said that inspection campaigns are intensified before Ramadan on large markets, which provides various food and goods for Ramadan, which is increasingly demanded by consumers before Ramadan, adding that most of these campaigns are specific and focused most of the time. He said that the food control section take the opportunity that restaurants are closed in the day time during Ramadan to increase its inspection campaigns. He said that inspection campaigns are carried out in sweets shops three days before mid-Ramadan night's "Gergaoon" celebration, to ensure the products’ safety. He called on citizens to contact food control section if you witness a food safety violation during Ramadan or Eid.
