Health Minister receives MEAOC delegation

Manama, Nov. 9 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh received a delegation from the Middle East Africa Ophthalmology Council (MEAOC) comprising the Chairperson of the MEAOC Conference's Organising Committee, Ophthalmologist Dr. Ebtissam Al-Alawi; the Council's Chairman, Ophthalmologist Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Ahmed; and, Dr. Mohammed Alamaddeen. The minister reaffirmed the Kingdom's keenness on hosting such conferences which boost Bahrain's position on the world map of conferences' hosting. The conference will be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain next year in collaboration between the International Ophthalmology Board of Maryland University and Bahrain Ophthalmologists Association on May 4-8 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister. Dr. Ebtissam Al-Alawi said the conference will discuss latest surgical procedures, diagnostics and treatment technologies used by expert ophthalmologists worldwide. The minister expressed her gratitude and appreciation of the efforts being exerted by the organizing committee members and their continual coordination efforts and supporting the hosting of such key international conferences in the field of ophthalmology. Anissa Al-Huwaihi, the Director of Public and International Relations in the Ministry of Health was present during the meeting.
