HE Qatar's Premier and FM Addresses a Joint Press Conference with Denmark's Premier

Copenhagen , February 29 (QNA) - HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani has stressed his country's due keenness on boosting relations with Denmark . HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani said in his joint press conference here on Wednesday night with Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt of Denmark that their talks also dealt with the current developments on the syrian scene where HE the qatari senior official has underlined the right of the Syrian people to defend themselves against the killing operations they are facing on part of the pro-Syrian President Bashar Al Assad forces. '' I have said in Norway yesterday , Tuesday, that unless Bashar Al Assad halts such killing, the world should start arming the Syrian people to defend themselves '', HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister told reporters. Elaborating the Qatari Premier and FM said that the Syrian uprising has been peaceful over the past ten months following which the people, there, in syria, resorted to use old-fashioned thnigs to defend themselves.... and according to the UN laws and the humanitarian laws , people should defend their families and children, HE the Qatari senior official said adding ,'' As you know, there are women and children who have been kidnapped a few days ago with the purpose of threatening the people ... There are rape cases , and this is something unacceptable in any way .. It must work on it .. If we can not do something as Arabs and I am the /current/ Chairman of the arab Committee about Syrian , so I view that the peace keeping forces should proceed there to provide safe zones for the people, the women and children and for all the Syrians and for sending the necessary food and medicine as well as helping people to defend themselves'', HE Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani told reporters. HE the Qatari Premier and Foreign Minister further said,'' We have offered whatever the Russians and Chinese have asked , but unfortunately we do not succeed ... and I think that the best thing to do is that the international community should meet and abandon the game of politics played by the major powers, which is a game that harm the Syrian people...as per my conviction there is a political game and we will do everything in our power as Arabs to help the Syrians.... and I'm sure that many countries of the free nations will help us in that .. How? This in what we will work on in the coming days, we can't wait any longer since every day passes especially after the recent Security Council resolution .. there is an escalation of killings in Syria .. It is a shame that we accept these mistakes in this era of what has been taking place ... We are still looking for a way to solve the problem'', HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, concluded. (QNA)
