HE Qatar's Energy and Industry Minister Attends 27th Meeting of Arab Electricity Ministerial Council
Cairo, December 21 (QNA) - The 27th meeting of the executive office of the Arab Electricity Ministerial council kicked off at the Arab League General Secretariat Headquarters on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Egyptian minister of electricity Dr. Hassan Yunis.
The ministers are to discuss preparations for the 9th session of the Arab electricity Ministerial Council due to kick off here tomorrow, Thursday.
HE Qatar's Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed Bin Saleh Al Sada chairs his country's delegation to the two-day meeting.
For his part, the Arab league assistant secretary general for economic affairs ambassador Mohamed bin Ibrahim al-tuwigri said the executive office will prepare draft resolutions concerning the agenda which the Arab electricity ministers are to discuss tomorrow inter-alia the following up of the resolutions of the Kuwait Economic And Social Summit held in 2009 and the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit held earlier 2011 and preparation for the third session of the Riyadh Summit due to commence in 2013.
The overall Arab Power Linkage and its newest developments will be the main point of the agenda through getting acquainted with the reports worked out by its three organs, the 8th, the gulf and the Moroccan ones in addition to the latest developments of the Egyptian -Saudi Power Linkage, the Eastern Nile States' Power Linkage and the Saudi-Yemen Power Linkage.
A press release issued in Doha earlier Monday said the peaceful nuclear energy usages particularly for power generations will be also taken up in addition to the workshops and conferences held to promote the nuclear security and safety culture , updating the infrastructure and enhancing human cadres.
The Arab Electricity Experts Committee is expected to consider how best to contribute to the joint activities between the Arab states in electricity sector at the regional and international levels, Kahramaa press release said. (QNA)
