HE Qatari Social Affairs Minister Arrives in Beirut

Beirut, December 09 (QNA) - HE Qatar's Social Affairs Minister Nasser Bin Abdullah Al-Humaidi who is also Acting Labour Minister arrived here on Friday to participate in meetings of the 31st session of the arab social affairs ministers' council due to open here tomorrow, Saturday and run for two days. HE the Qatari Minister was welcomed upon arrival by his Lebanese Counterpart Wael Abu Fahour and HE Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon Saad Bin Ali Al-Muhannadi. The arab social affairs ministers are to discuss over their meetings a set of key topics foremost amongst the role of the said council in dealing with the requirements of the current stage and the newest changes prevailing the arab region. The five-year 2012-2016 plan of the arab social affairs ministers'council will also be taken up. They will also consider the support to be present to the social enterprises of the arab members especially the least developed ones to help them carry out the millennium Development goals by the year 2015 in addition to considering preparations for convening an arab conference on implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, which results will be forwarded to the UN General Assembly meetings on the Millennium Development Goals slated to be held in 2013, and then to the Third Arab Millennium Development summit . The participants will also discuss a number of social issues and important development within the context of preparation for the social file of the next Arab summit, as well as preparations for the Third Arab Millennium Development summit.
