HE Qatar Municipality Minister Praises Role of Arab Towns Organization

Doha , May 14 (QNA) - HE Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa Al Thani expressed Tuesday his delight that Doha hosted the 16th Conference of the Arab Town's Organization (ATO). HE the Minister stressed that the patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani made the event more distinguished. In addition to the attendance, HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, who honored the winners, HE the Minister added. HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban planning praised the role the Arab Towns Organization plays in inspiring architects to give their best in order to win the prize. HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa Al Thani said that the State of Qatar for its part has always been keen on winning the prize. Qatar's Al Daayen municipality won a prize this year and HE the Minister said that Al Daayen was an example to be followed by other cities. On electronic services offered by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, HE the Minister said that the ministry was continuously working on expanding its electronic services. The latest was a project to develop the inspection system, which is being done in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. (QNA)
