HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Meets Mayor of London

Doha, April 21 (QNA) - HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari met here on Sunday morning with Mayor of London Boris Johnson and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the prospects of cooperation and cultural relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing and developing them. They also exchanged views on cultural and artistic events held in the two countries within the framework of cultural program 'QatarUK 2013'. The two sides also agreed that this year should be as the cornerstone of the excellent and active relations in the fields of culture, arts, heritage and youth, following by exchange of visits and events with giving a special priority to the events of large turnout such as the Qatari cultural days held recently in London and was attended by about 5000 British. At the end of the visit, the Mayor of London and his accompanying delegation toured the halls and corridors of the "Bait al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) as well as an exhibition of photographs documenting the celebration of Doha Capital of Arab Culture 2010, cinema halls, technical seminars and galleries. The meeting was attended by HE the Ministry's Secretary-General Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa and HE British Ambassador accredited to Qatar. (QNA)
