HE Minister of Business and Trade Inspects the New Port Project in Messaieed

doha, February 19 (QNA) - HE Minister of Trade and Business Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, on Tuesday paid an inspection tour of the new port project in Messaieed. At the outset of the tour, HE the minister was briefed on the progress made for performing the stages of the aforesaid project and the future steps ensuring the inauguration of the project in the timelimit in 2016. The steering committee of the port project also presented a full explanation for the policy of procurement, supply and contracts in the port. The tour also included a field tour of the site during which HE the minister got acquainted with the latest developments in reality. Then HE Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulaziz Al Thani presided over a meeting by the members of the team in charge of the operational plan of the new port during which they discussed the ad-hoc strategy for conducting the efficient operation mechanism based on the optimal global practices aimed at the best and most efficient exploitation of the new port's capacity. HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, meantime affirmed that the project represents a new port of great importance to support the growth of the local economy and competitive domestic trade and inter-trade between the surrounding countries . HE Minister of Trade and Business called on all parties concerned to provide all means of support to ensure the ideal emergence of the project in a way that typically reflect the progress already achieved and witnessed in all areas in the State of Qatar.(QNA)
