HE Deputy Prime Minister Receives Written Message from UN Chief

Doha, March 31 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud has received a written message from the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon. In his message, the UN Secretary General welcomed the success of the negotiations between the Government of Sudan and the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement and the agreements that had been reached between the parties which would support the peace process in Darfur on the basis of the Doha Document for Peace. Ban Ki-moon also expressed his great appreciation to HE Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud and the Government of the State of Qatar for the continuing efforts in the negotiations and the unwavering commitment towards enhancing peace and stability in Darfur. The UN Secretary-General concluded his letter expressing his hope to continue working with HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in order to establish peace in Darfur and maintain security and stability on the basis of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
