HE Al Suwaidi Hails HH the Emir's Endorsement of Cabinet Decision No./27/
Doha, May 08 (QNA) - HE the Justice Undersecretary Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi has highlighted the cabinet decision No./27/ of 2012 on establishing the the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law and which HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani endorsed earlier Tuesday .
HE Justice Undersecretary Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi said in a press statement to qatar news agency (qna) on the occasion, such a trend embodies the due care and attention the qatari leadership for preserving man in light of the legal and moral rules which have been established over the long course of history and adopted by the modern legal thought.
''That international humanitarian law along with the human rights law are in common for the principle of protection of man or human being '' , said HE Al Suwaidi who noted that this forms a separate section, where its rules are applicable in situations of the armed conflict, in pursuit of protecting the victims of these conflicts, whether internal or external and restricting methods and means of warfare.
HE the Justice Undersecretary Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi stressed that in light of what the world is witnessing today from various armed conflicts , the need seems urgent for concerted international efforts to implement the provisions of international humanitarian law which is based on what is known as the ethics of war and work on the relief of the war victims, the matter which underlines the key importance of the national and international organisations and committees working in the field.
''Such a step reflects the approach of the State of Qatar which the entire world endorsed its strenuous , diligent and responsible humanitarian efforts for settling the conflicts , removing the specter of war, and the rescue of victims and removal of the mass destruction left over by warfares, " Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi told reporters.
It is worthy to mention that HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani endorsed on Tuesday the Cabinet decision No./ 27/ of the year 2012 to establish the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law.
HE Al Suwaidi further said in his press statement to QNA that a review of the achievements of the State of Qatar in international forums in support and promotion of the rules of the international humanitarian law, a source of admiration , appreciation and pride on part of all the participatant countries .
''Thus the establishment of this Committee under the State's interest in the great field allow it to take the lead among its similar counterparts across the world and enable them to achieve meaningful service to the humanitarian objectives of this law and the dissemination of its provisions and training on its application and enforcement around the world eager to promote a climate of peace and non violence, " HE HE the Justice Undersecretary Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi told QNA.
Concluding his statement the justice undersecretary said according to the aforesaid cabinet decision, the Committee are chaired under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and the membership of a representative each from the Ministry of Defense , the Ministry of the Interior , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Labour and the Supreme Education Council , the Supreme Council of Health, Qatar Red Crescent Society , Qatar University , Qatar Foundation For Combating Human Trafficking as well as a members of the Advisory Council.
The Justice Undersecretary went on to say that each of the candidates or organs is to be represented in the membership of the aforesaid committee, and a decision to name the members of the Committee is to be issued on part of HE the Minister of Justice.(QNA)
