Haniyeh Hails Qatar's Support for Palestine
Doha, February 03 (QNA) - The head of deposed Palestinian government Ismail Haniyeh lauded HH the Emir, Qatar's government and the Qatari people for their political, financial, media and popular support for the Palestinian people on all levels.
This came as Haniyeh gave the Friday prayer sermon at Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque in Doha, where he pointed to the noble Qatari stances in supporting the Palestinian people and rebuilding what the occupation's octopus demolished in Gaza.
Haniyeh praised HH the Emir for his constant support of the Palestinian people during the 22-day war on Gaza, and recalled the Emir's call for an urgent Arab summit to deal with the situation.
Haniyeh added that Qatar's support didn't stop, as a fund was set up to rebuild Gaza and Qatar contributed greatly to it. "From this place, in front of these crowds of worshipers and on behalf of the Palestinian people, I thank HH the Emir for his support for the people of Palestine," Haniyeh said in his sermon.
Haniyeh hailed the progress Qatar is currently witnessing in all fields.
"There are geographically small countries but they grow their leadership and their policies. And there are big countries, but their leadership make them small. In Qatar, you see a civilizational project not just a process of building a state. This project is based on three elements; belief, human being and urbanism," Haniyeh said.
Haniyeh said that the Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque reflects Qatar’s adherence to religion, belief and the path of Islam.
He also praised the great interest and care Qatar gives for human development, which he said he had noticed along with the delegation accompanying him when they visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).
"We visited Qatar Foundation and saw a real investment in humans: knowledgeable humans who are capable of protecting their country, realizing their achievements and building their future," added Haniyeh.
Haniyeh pointed also to Qatar's urban revolution that proves the country's wealth was has been put in the service of the country and its citizens.
Haniyeh wished that he and the crowds of worshipers at Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque that would meet with HH the Emir, the Arab and Islamic people for a prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque. (QNA)
