Hamad International Airport (HIA) Opening Postponed

Doha, March 31 (QNA) - The opening of the Hamad International Airport (HIA) has been postponed for a date to be set within the next few days, said Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and the head of the Steering Committee of the New Doha International Airport. Al Nuaimi added in a press statement tonight that the postponement of the start operations at Hamad International Airport was due to the non-compliance with all the terms set by the General Administration of Civil Defense recently. The Committee praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior represented by the Civil Defense Directorate and its commitment to security and public safety. He noted that many international specialized companies have finalized the readiness of systems at the Hamad International Airport and issued the related international accredited certificates in the areas of security and safety.(QNA)
