Gulf-Pharma Medical Conference set for record attendance

Manama, Aug.24 (BNA): The first Gulf-Pharma Medical Conference will open on September2 at ART Rotana Hotel, Bahrain, under the theme ‘Making a Difference in Infectious Diseases’. The two-day event will be held under the auspices of Supreme Health Council (SHC) Chairman Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa. "A record 400 doctors, pharmacists and specialists from Bahrain and abroad will attended the conference, exceeding all initial expectations", said Bahrain Pharmacists Society, head of the conference organizing committee Yasser Sakhir. In a statement to "KalamSeha", health website, he said that the two-day conference would bring together a record number of international, regional and national experts. "More than twenty keynote speakers will address the participants", he pointed out, stressed the importance of the conference, being the first regional health platform that brings together physicians and pharmacists which reflects their complementary roles in combating infectious diseases. More than 30 research papers will be presented during the two-day conference, which features also workshops and round-table discussions Health Ministry Internal Medical department Chief Dr. Jameela Al-Salman, also head of the scientific committee, said that key medical issues would be addressed, particularly antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
