Gulf Delegation Visits Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College

Doha, June 03 (QNA) - A delegation, composed of fire fighting and civil defence training officials in Arab Gulf countries and a representative of the GCC general secretariat, visited on Monday the premises of Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College, at Ras Laffan Industrial City. The visit comes in implementation of the decisions of the 31st meeting of the GCC Ministers of Interior, held in Riyadh November 2012, on training and qualification in the field of civil defense, which stipulate that the Ministry of Interior of the UAE is to coordinate with the relevant authorities, to organize visits of training officers and representatives of the GCC General Secretariat (security Affairs sector) to Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College in Qatar, and the civil Defence Academy in the United Arab Emirates. The delegation toured the college facilities and listened to a briefing on its programmes and practical training on extinguishing fires of planes, ships, trains and chemical containers. (QNA)
