Guinean President to visit Thailand June 24-26
BANGKOK, June 19 (TNA) - Guinean President Alpha Condé is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand from June 24-26, the first-ever trip to the Kingdom by a high-ranking representative of Guinea after both countries established their diplomatic relations in 1983, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring more cooperation, particularly in trade and investment.
Upon his arrival in Bangkok, the Guinean President will be officially received at Government House and will then discuss bilateral cooperation with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, with topics to be raised including cooperation on trade, investment and development projects.
The Guinean and Thai leaders will then sign two memoranda of understanding (MOU) on academic cooperation and bilateral consultation between the foreign ministries of both countries.
The visiting Guinean President is scheduled to meet Thai business operators who are interested in expanding their trade, mining, agricultural, energy and construction projects into Guinea as well, during which he will identify investment opportunities in his West African nation.
The Guinean President will also inspect food processing, fishery, agriculture and rice breeding sites, as Thailand is ready to transfer its expertise in these fields to Guinea. Besides, the President will meet over 1,000 Guinean people who live in Thailand. (TNA)
