Great responsibility falls on diaspora in delivering truth about Azerbaijan - Presidential Administration

Azerbaijan, Baku, Apr. 29 / Trend, R.Darakhshan /
The Fourth convention of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis (CAE) was held on Sunday in Berlin's Concorde Hotel, State Committee on Work with Diaspora told Trend.
After presidium was elected, CAE president Bashar Komur addressed the convention. He noted that 61 diaspora organizations from various European countries participated in the convention.
According to Komur, CEA is working hard to neutralize the anti-Azerbaijani activities of Armenian lobby and has taken important steps to bring the truth about Karabakh to the world public's attention.
After that the floor was given to the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov. In his speech, Hasanov said he closely monitors the activities of EAC.
Hasanov said that since 2004, EAC has held four conventions and elected three presidents who have worked successfully since then. He noted that the national leader Heydar Aliyev had started work on building the diaspora in 1993, proclaiming the ideology of "Azerbaijanism" as the main idea.
"Compared with those years our goals have increased even more," said Hasanov. He wished diaspora organizations, including the CEA, achievements in their work and noted that Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev relies on Azerbaijanis living all around the world and supports them at the same time.
Hasanov said that in recent years, Azerbaijan's growing power and achievements of international importance are annoying its enemies and encourage them to anti-Azerbaijani activities.
He reminded that Azerbaijan has become a non-permanent member and chairman of the UN Security Council. According to Hasanov, great responsibility falls to diaspora organizations in neutralizing anti-Azerbaijani actions of mentioned forces, including some media outlets and communicating true information about the country to the world and European public.
Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov also addressed the convention. He wished the convention success and noted that during the eight years of its existence EAC has done very important work.
According to him, over these years EAC has emerged as a full-fledged organization of diaspora. Ibrahimov said that the State Committee would continue its support for new governing body of the Congress.
The convention was also addressed by the Azerbaijani ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov, the head of the Coordination Centre of Azerbaijanis in Germany Samira Patzer-Ismayilova, Chairman of the Cultural Center of Azerbaijanis in Georgia Fazil Hasanov, the president of the Benelux Azerbaijanis Congress Sahil Gasimov and chairman of the Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani associations (TADEF) Bilal Dundar.
