Government readiness to discuss parliament's agenda stressed

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA): Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa Abdulrahman Al Hammadi emphasised the government's full readiness to discuss the parliament's agenda as per the council's internal by-law. He pointed out the attendance of the government's representatives and their waiting for the session to convene today. Yet, it was postponed to next week. Al-Hammadi reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to working according to the principle of separation between branches, being a pillar of the democratic process anchored by the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In a statement given after suspension of the parliament's session today and its postponement to next week for lack of quorum, the Information and Parliament Affairs Minister underscored continuous attendance of the government representatives of the sessions as per the internal regulations of the Representatives Council. "The government asserts commitment to the principle of separation between branches. We were not part of what happened in the session today. The government is committed to attending all the sessions of the Representatives Council as stipulated in the internal by-law. We will be present to discuss all issues on the agenda," he said.
