GORD and QAPCO Launch "Witty Minds" Programme

Doha, May 07 (QNA) - The Gulf Organization for Research and Development(GORD) and Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), supported by the Supreme Council for Education , organized at the GORD's Center of Excellence Tuesday a programme under the theme of "witty minds" as one of programmes that concern with developing skills of the talents . Chairman of the GORD, Dr. Yousef Mohamed Al-Horr ,was co-organized with the Chief Executive officer Dr Mohammed Yousef Al-Mulla, a press conference in which Dr. Al-Horr,affirmed that the witty minds programme will consolidate efforts of GORD in supporting the national vision 2030,focusing on the human development, indicating that the innovation process according to the latest international studies centering on the creating the suitable atmosphere and training for the young people in order to create a generation of innovators contributing in the development of the country. Dr.Al-Horr stressed that the witty minds is a practical programme aiming at creating a new generation of young Qataris who are qualified and trained scientifically and technically on innovation and creativity skills . He pointed to the visit of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, which aims to create a strong economy based on knowledge of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which is focusing on one of its four axes to build the human being who is a mainstay in each civilization and a key engine in each renaissance. Chairman of the GORD enumerated the main factors of the programme which includes training, assessment , positive environment , buidling self-confidence, provision of innovation tools ,a qualified trainer and opportunities for friction and the exchange of experiences, ,saying all these elements will be carried out as part of the school day. For his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of QAPCO, Dr Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla, said the programme is an academic distinguished one that contributes in stimulating energies and promoting skills of the new generation as well as learning them basics and principles of engineering sciences. He expressed his admiration that the program is focusing on the development of creativity and skills of the students through the methodology adopted by him , expressing his hope the collaboration with GORD to achieve the goals of the programme . He stressed that QAPCO as industrial partner will work hard to provide all kinds of support to the students to develop their creative abilities. Meanwhile, Dr. Abdulaziz Ali al-Saadi, the Director of Policy Analysis and Research Office, said that the Supreme Council for Education (SCE) backs such initiatives and inspires the society's institutions to contribute to reinforcing these programmes ,saying, " we will provide all kinds of supports to the students to upgrade their innovative abilities." He expressed satisfaction over cooperation with GORD to realize goals of the programme.(END)
