GCC support for maintaining Bahrain's security highlighted

Manama , Nov 1 (BNA): GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani lauded the exhibition organized by the Interior Ministry on the sidelines of the Regional Security Summit held in Manama, which highlights the gravity of the terrorist organizations' plots have targeted destabilize Bahrain's security and stability, terrorizing citizens and residents. GCC Secretary-General, in a statement to Bahrain News Agency, expressed appreciation of the efforts and support of the Interior Minister Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa for the ministry's programmes aimed at hunting down terrorists and instigators to maintain the national security and stability. He pointed out the significance of the items showcased which have been seized by police, including samples of weapons, explosives and improvised explosive devices (IED). He commended the ministry's report which included measures and plans carried out to combat the activities of terrorist organizations. He noted the large amount of weapons and explosives seized by police that terrorists had attempted to smuggle into the country, especially in 2015, which indicates the great efforts and remarkable efficiency enjoyed by police. He highly appreciated the advanced level of security coordination and cooperation among the GCC interior ministries, and the keenness of the Gulf interior ministers to promote the Gulf security system. He stressed the GCC countries' support for Bahrain's constant efforts in maintaining its security and safety of its citizens and residents.
