GCC Drugs Enforcement Agencies Trainees Take Course in Doha

Doha, March 4 (QNA) - Twenty-six trainees from GCC drugs enforcement agencies are currently taking a specialty course here at the at GCC Criminal Information Centre on Combating Drugs (GCC-CICCD), the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said. The course, which concludes Wednesday, will boost leadership and strategic planning skills of officers engaged in combating drugs trafficking and misuse. CICCD Director Colonel Saqr Rashid Al Miraikhi said the 26 trainees, who are in top positions in their respective drugs enforcement agencies in GCC states, are participating in the course. The course is focused on two topics - developing decisive leadership and strategic planning skills in the fight against drugs. United Arab Emirates MoI, Consultant on Strategic Management and Performance Development, Professor Dr. Jalal Al Naimi will lecture on key topics. Dr Al Naimi will expound on the strategic plan by identifying the vision, mission, goals, application and focus on advanced scientific methods and how to follow-up the different stages of implementing the strategy in the fight against drugs. The second topic deals with the identifying innocence and guilt of people involved in drugs oriented crime. Bahrain Drug Enforcement Administration Director Lt. Col. Dr. Mubarak Abdullah bin Hawail Marri will lecture on this topic. This aspect is vital in the fight against drugs to ensure no user, dealer, trafficker and distributor escapes punishment due to procedural or technical errors, Dr Marri said. (QNA)
