Gaza Minister Commends Qatar Charity's Efforts to Support Palestinian People
Doha, March 13 (QNA) - Gaza's Minister of Religious Affairs Ismail Radwan has hailed Qatar's Charity Society's (QCS) efforts and support for the Palestinian people and the besieged Gaza Strip.
As he visited the headquarters of Qatar Charity (QC), Radwan commended the organization's huge efforts in the different fields to assist Gaza residents as they live under the occupation's blockade.
Radwan spoke of the damages the Strip sustained, especially in the mosques' sector, by the Israeli occupation, where 34 mosques were completely destroyed and further 176 partially destroyed.
For his part, Mohamed Ali Al-Ghamdi, QC's Executive Director Of International Development, has stressed the Qatari Charity Society's keenness on prioritizing the Palestinian people, particularly from Gaza, in development projects.
"The big projects carried out there by Qatar Charity embody its vision of the significance of the Palestinian people in its programs, which include a QR37-million special project in the fishing sector funded by Qatar's Foreign Ministry, and has seen important phases of it implemented."
Al-Ghamdi noted that QCS currently focuses on income-generating projects and economic empowerment, as well as multiple projects in the health sector, adding that the association will exert more efforts and fund additional projects after the appointment of Ibrahim Zainal of Qatar as QC regional director in Gaza.
