Gadjah Mada University To Hold Energy Efficient Vehicle Competition

YOGYAKARTA, Nov 1 (Antara) - The Gadjah Mada University will hold an energy efficient car competition, KMHE 2016, from November 1-4 at the Prambanan Temple Complex, Klaten District, Central Java. Participants in this national level contest will compete in two vehicle categories---prototype and urban---and four fuel categories---gasoline, diesel, electric and ethanol-run, chairperson of the organizing committee, Andhika Widyaparaga, told a press conference on Monday. "This competition is an important platform to push the cause of research and development in developing energy saving vehicle technology," Widyaparaga remarked. The transportation sector is crucial to the national energy consumption scenario and research and development in this sector can push forward the objective of achiving energy efficiency, he commented. As many as 60 teams from 38 universities will compete in the energy efficient vehicle contest.
