Future Plan to Enhance the Holy Quran Memorization Centers - Minister

Doha, July 25 (QNA) - Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs HE Dr. Gaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari has underlined that there will be a future plan for enhancing the Holy Quran Memorization Centers, stressing the need to increase the effectiveness of these centers and increase their numbers. HE the Minister told reporters while attending a ceremony honoring the children and the new coverts winners of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Quran Contest at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab Mosque. HE the Minister congratulated the contest winners, and expressed his delight with the results achieved by the contestants and that reflect the community's interest, "the greatest asset of Muslims which is the book of God Almighty." HE the Minister said , "I am very happy with this scene which aims to create this atmosphere for our sons and daughters of the country, residents and new converts".. He called on parents to carry out their role in encouraging their children to turn to the Book of Allah "as the best investment and a light to the hearts and minds . " The competition took place during the second week of the holy month of Ramadan with participation of 824 Qataris and expatriates children of whom 696 contestants had succeeded .. While the number of participants in the category of new converts reached 51 persons who achieved 100 percent success. HE the Minister also noted that the opening of a branch "for new converts" in the contest would enhance interaction with the community and its activities, praising in this regard the role being played by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre (FANAR) in presenting social and cultural programs for the converts.(QNA)
