French state-owned energy company EDF ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 21, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev and Ambassador of France to the Kyrgyz Republic Francois Delaus discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said that during the meeting, the sides paid special attention to the issues of investment cooperation in the energy sector, including renewable energy sources. In this context, the French ambassador provided detailed information about the state company EDF (Electricite de France) and its plans for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. In turn, the minister informed the ambassador about the promising hydropower potential of the country and stressed the importance of attracting large investors and specialists to strategic projects. He also noted the importance of mutual visits at high and highest levels.
