France Affirms Its Keenness To Strengthen The Joint Cooperation With Iraq

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - France affirmed its keenness to strengthen cooperation frameworks with Iraq and to continue support at all levels. A statement by the Information Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said, "The President of the Council, Salim al-Jubouri met today with French Ambassador Mark Barbetti and during the meeting, they reviewed the most prominent political and security developments in Iraq and the region, and discussed a number of topics of common interest, as well as discuss relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in all field. The Speaker stressed during the meeting "the importance of the role of friendly countries in supporting the unity of Iraq and work to consolidate the concept of sovereignty of state authority in accordance with the Constitution," adding that "the challenges facing the political parties in the country require more wisdom in resolving differences through constructive dialogue adopted by all political blocs without exception". He pointed out that "the post-Daesh phase requires us to mobilize all the potentials and energies to start reconstruction, especially in areas affected by the control of terrorism, and work to return displaced people to their liberated cities and provide a safe life for them." For his part, the French ambassador said that his country is keen to strengthen the frameworks of cooperation with Iraq, and to continue support at all levels, as well as France's contribution to the reconstruction of some liberated areas./ End
