Foreign Ministry Holds Workshop on Darfur Development Strategy

Doha, March 20 (QNA) - The Foreign Ministry, jointly with the United Nations Development Program, has on Wednesday held a workshop for the media on the strategy of development and reconstruction in Darfur. The workshop was held as part of preparations for the Darfur international donor’s conference in Doha, due to take place on April 7 and 8. local, regional and international media institutions participated in the workshop, where the Sudanese government and Darfur's regional authority presented the development strategy in the region that aims to create economic revival and bring comprehensive and sustainable development to Darfur. In opening remarks to launch the workshop, Qatari Foreign Minister's Assistant for International Cooperation HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Jabor Al Thani said the donors conference will tackle the development strategy in Darfur, adding that the workshop and similar ones will work to develop a better understanding of reconstruction in Darfur. He added that Qatar hopes to work closely with Sudanese, regional and international media to spot the light on Darfur's readiness for revival and development. (QNA)
