Foreign minister receives Bangladesh counterpart

Manama, Dec. 22 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received in his office today his Bangladesh counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, currently in an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Shaikh Khalid welcomed his Bengali counterpart lauding the advanced level of bilateral relations at all levels, based on strong ties binding the two countries and their peoples in light of the keenness of the two sides to move forward to new horizons within common endeavors to implement advanced tangible steps in developing bilateral relation. He commended the constructive role played by the Bengali community in the development process of the Kingdom of Bahrain underscoring the due care and attention it enjoys as it represents a cornerstone in developing bilateral ties. The Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali expressed his pleasure for visiting Bahrain to strengthen bilateral relations and voiced confidence that the upcoming period will witness further cooperation between the two countries to avail from the available opportunities mainly in economic and trade fields. The two sides discussed a number of issues of common interest on regional and international arenas. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and his Bengali counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
