Foreign minister participates in GCC-US meeting

Paris, May 8 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participated in the meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the US Secretary of State John Kerry, held here today. The meeting discussed the historical GCC - US ties and ways to further bolster them in all fields for the best interests of both sides, as well as the latest developments in the region, including the Yemeni crisis and means to settle it. The Foreign Minister stated that this meeting came as a continuation of the ongoing consultative communication between the GCC States and US on all regional and international issues of common concern to both sides and to devise solutions to overcome the different challenges in order to promote regional security and stability. Talks also focused on the arrangements for next week’s summit in Camp David between U.S. President and the leaders of the GCC States, as well as its agenda, he said. The Ministers further reviewed ways to strengthen and promote GCC-US partnership for the benefit of both sides, he added.
