Foreign Minister participates in GCC meeting

Manama, Nov 17 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa took part in the 137th Ministerial Preparatory Meeting for the 36th Session of the Supreme Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh. GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al- Zayani said the GCC foreign ministers condemned the terrorists attacks perpetrated by Daesh in the French capital Paris. The ministers pledged the support of the GCC States to France at this crucial time and underscored that this heinous act will not weaken the resolve and determination of the French and international community to intensify their efforts to eradicate and root out the terrorist groups that are enemies of the human civilization. The GCC Secretary General said the meeting discussed the progress of the joint GCC work, the issues related to the expansion and promotion of the GCC cooperation and integration that have been achieved as well as the reports submitted by the concerned ministerial committees and the General secretariat of the Council. The ministers held a joint meeting with the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council and its members to discuss the recommendations of the Board to the 35th Supreme Council session on issues previously referred to it to consider in its upcoming session.
