Foreign Minister meets US Secretary of State

Washington, Nov.19 (BNA): Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa hailed the solid relations between Bahrain and the United States of America, stressing steadily-growing cooperation in all fields. The minister highlighted the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, to strengthen bilateral relations, expand joint ties and enhance coordination and understanding to bolster shared interests, confront joint challenges and meet the aspirations of the two friendly countries and peoples. During hos meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry, on the sidelines of his current official visit to the United States, the minister commended the pivotal role of the United States in maintaining security and stability in the region as well as its commitment to cooperate with countries in the region in confronting different challenges. Secretary Kerry affirmed his country's keenness on enhancing good relations with Bahrain on all levels, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity. The two sides exchanged views regarding the current developments in the region and discussed issues of mutual interest.
