Foreign Minister meets US assistant state secretary

Manama, June 8 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met here today Frank A. Rose, the Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of his tour of the GCC countries to discuss a number of issues of joint interest. The minister welcomed the US official and discussed with him the historical, close and ever-growing Bahraini-US relations in all fields, affirming the keen desire of the Kingdom of Bahrain to further boost them towards broader horizons for the benefit of the two friendly countries. He hailed the significant role being played by the United States to underpin stability in the region and emphasized the need for bilateral consultations on whatever could develop these ties. Rose took pride in the close bilateral relations between the United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming the importance of the distinguished partnership between the two friendly countries.
