Foreign Minister meets UNDP administrator

New York, Oct.2 (BNA): Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa met United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) meetings. He commended the UNDP crucial role in strengthening social and economic development and reducing poverty in many countries in the world, in addition to its contribution to the achievement of the millennium development goals. Clark lauded Bahrain’s cooperation with the United Nations in all fields to bolster sustainable development, confirming her presence in the Manama Dialogue Forum and the ministerial conference, which will be convened in Bahrain on implementing development goals in the Arab countries. The minister discussed with the UNDP Administrator regional and international issues as well as developments, currently unfolding in Syria.
