Foreign minister lauds UNDP efforts

Manama, Oct. 30 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark on the sidelines of the 11th International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Regional Security Summit: the Manama Dialogue 2015. They reviewed the fields of cooperation between the UNDP and the Kingdom of Bahrain and ways of developing them. The Minister lauded the developmental role of the UNDP and the support it offers in social and economic development and in curbing poverty as well as in contributing to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), pointing out to the Ministerial Conference to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on the implementation of the development goals by the Arab States within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the two sides. Helen Clark appreciated the unwavering policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, based on close cooperation with the United Nations in all fields.
