Foreign Minister Discusses With His Iranian Counterpart The Latest Developments In The Region, Including Security Situation In The Gulf And Yemen

Baghdad / NINA / - Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed, in a phone call, with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, the latest developments in the region, including the security situation in the Gulf and Yemen. The minister stressed, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the stability of the region is also stability of Iraq, therefor we are ready to make all efforts to work together with the countries of the region to stop the violence. According to the statement, the two sides discussed a number of sensitive and important issues in the region. The Iranian Foreign Minister briefed his Iraqi counterpart on the latest developments on the ongoing negotiations in Vienna on the nuclear project with the US side and other concerned countries, noting that there are steps that can be considered positive in this path. For his part, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein expressed his happiness for the continuation of the negotiating process, wishing to reach the final agreement in the interest of the region, its stability and world peace. In another axis, the security situation in the Gulf and Yemen and the danger of escalation and deepening of crises were discussed. Minister Hussein stressed that the stability of the region is also stability for Iraq, therefor we are ready to make all efforts to work together with the countries of the region to stop the violence.
