Foreign Minister attends Turkmenistan's neutrality anniversary

Ashgabat, Dec. 11 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa arrived here today as a representative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the International Conference on "Policy of Neutrality: International Cooperation for Peace, Security and Development" marking the celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. Upon arrival, the minister was welcomed by Turkmenistan Deputy Foreign Minister Matiev Berdenaaz, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Hassan Abdullah Al Adhab, and a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It is noteworthy that twenty years ago, the International Community unanimously recognised Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality through United Nations General Assembly resolution A/50/ on 12 December 1995. Since then, Turkmenistan has been the first recognised neutral State by the international community.
