Foreign Minister attends GCC – Russian meeting

New York, Oct.1 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, participated in the joint Ministerial Meeting, held by the GCC States and the Russian Federation on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations in all fields and how to push for stronger ties to attain common interest and help reinforce security and stability in the region. The GCC side looked forward to developing its ties with the Russian Federation and underpinning coordination mechanisms, especially in view of the grave regional and global developments including the situation in Syria and Yemen, the mounting violence and terrorism and the need for inter-state cooperation to counter the problems and crises which put all peoples’ future and interests at stake.
