Foreign Minister Arrives In Moscow To Chair Iraqi Delegation At The 7th Session Of The Iraqi-Russian Committee

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari arrived in the Russian capital Moscow to head the Iraqi delegation at the seventh session of the joint Iraqi-Russian committee to enhance relations between Baghdad and Moscow and open new horizons for joint cooperation. "It is hoped that the committee will hold several meetings between the representatives of the ministries of the two countries and conclude its work by signing a joint memorandum and a number of agreements," a statement from the Foreign Ministry's press office said. The foreign minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari headed yesterday to the Russian Federation at the head of an official delegation to attend the meetings of the Iraqi-Russian High Joint Committee at its seventh session. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub announced that Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari will chair the Iraqi side in the meetings at the Seventh Session of the Joint Iraqi-Russian Committee. He will deliver a speech on the Iraqi victory over terrorism and the outcome of the reconstruction conference held in Kuwait on February 12-14. "This visit will also focus on completing the negotiations with the Russian side on lifting the visa for holders of diplomatic passports and service and facilitating the procedures for granting Iraqis a visa to enter the Russian Federation," Mahjoub said during a meeting last Thursday with a number of media including NINA. / End
