Manama, Apr. 21 (BNA): The Ministry of Follow-up Affairs has hosted a workshop on the use of the "Follow-up on Government Action Plan System".
Held Under the patronage of the Minister of Follow-up Affairs Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa, the meeting aimed to inform coordinators of the Government Action Plan (GAP) on the mechanisms to follow-up on the implementation of the projects related to their ministries and the need to update the system regularly.
The minister affirmed the constant keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to follow up closely on GAP implementation, and make sure all projects are finalised according to timetable and budget.
He said the GAP implementation follow-up system had been created to ensure speedy implementation, provide progress indicators and address reasons of delay, if any.
It also aims to enhance coordination among ministries and government bodies, and incorporate parliamentary proposals and the remark of the National Audit Office with GAP.
Al-Mutawa pointed out that periodic reports on the progress of various projects, and the reasons of delay in any of them would be submitted to the cabinet, adding that the GAP implementation follow-up system aims not only to provide information about GAP implementation progress, but also to highlight the impacts of those projects on the Bahraini citizens.
It is worth noting that 120 employees from 40 government bodies will benefit from the workshop, who will be trained on using the GAP implementation follow-up system, which will reflect positively on the quality and accuracy of the information to be included in the periodic reports to be submitted to the cabinet.
